PREMARPOL: Prevention and Combating of Marine Pollution in Ports and Marinas

Η ρύπανση των εμπορικών και τουριστικών λιμένων και η καταπολέμησή της, αποτελεί θεμελιώδες ζήτημα τόσο της διεθνούς νομοθεσίας (Marpol Convention ’73/’78), όσο και της οικονομικής δραστηριότητας που εξαρτάται άμεσα από αυτή. Είναι γεγονός ότι από το επίπεδο ρύπανσης των τουριστικών λιμένων συναρτάται η προσέλκυση τουριστικών σκαφών, ενώ η διαρκής συσσώρευση ρύπων στα λιμάνια τα καθιστούν πηγή άμεσου κινδύνου για τις κοινωνίες που γειτνιάζουν με αυτά.

IoT-iCore

USEFIL

The USEFIL project aims to address the gap between technological research advances and the practical needs of elderly people by developing advanced but affordable in-home unobtrusive monitoring and web communication solutions. USEFIL intends to use low cost "off-the-shelf" technology to develop immediately applicable services that will assist the elderly in maintaining their independence and daily activities. Installation of the USEFIL system will not require retrofitting in a person’s residence and will be almost invisible once installed.
